Can an Adam Newman Redemption Storyline Ever Be Believable? HELL NO!

The Writers Must Think We Have NO BRAINS!

I have to say, reading the boards on SoapCentral and all the Adam fans berating Nick is just plain hilarious to me. Today, because of who I am, I couldn't help but react to some of their more disturbing comments. I seriously think that people who like Adam and Sharon together have rocks in their head. Perhaps they're just sociopaths like their lead male? Perhaps they got dropped on their head as a baby? Perhaps their children should be careful as clearly their parents feel that people who kidnap children are people worth falling in love with provided they look decent with their shirt off.

I will never buy into this supposed redemption of Adam Newman. Especially not through Sharon. And here's why.

Sharon is BETTER than this shell she has become. For a woman who threw Nick out when he cheated and divorced Jack for forging a diary and being a sex addict, I find it completely out of character for her to be supposedly torn about her feelings for the man who stole her child. How the new writers think this is plausible is beyond me. Perhaps they got their qualifications from the back of a Weeties box?

Secondly, Adam has never once admitted to his wrong-doings. How easily this Adam lovers forget that he tortured Ashley to the point that she fell down some stairs and lost her child. Add this to the fact that he threw said dead baby's remains in a fireplace and then stole another baby to replace the one he made Ashley miscarry. He asked the doctor if it was Sharon's baby - he knew what he was doing. As well as this, he allowed a known sexual predator to take care of Ashley whilst pregnant, knew this predator had already abused a previous girlfriend in the past but used her abuse as a means of blackmailing this Doctor to get what he wanted. He caused the death of Richard Hightower, leaving the man's son an orphan. He placed his hands around Skye's throat to intimidate her.

NO REAL MAN PUTS HIS HANDS ON A WOMAN, EVER!

Yet these writers moronically have Skye telling Sharon she owes Adam something? What exactly does she owe this monster. What do we know about Adam?

Thirdly - He never does anything without some ulterior motive. Does he love Sharon? - absolutely not. Sham fans are morons if they choose to see Adam's so-called love as real. Truth is, he got close to Sharon to stop her from finding out that he had stolen her baby. She was vulnerable and he used it to his advantage. Found out everything she hated about her relationships with Nick and Jack, then became the man he knew she was looking for. But he's not actually that man. He's a fake and a fraud. And this new Sharon is too stupid to see it. He says what she wants to hear. He antagonizes Nick by acting one way in front of Sharon, then acting like a hard bastard and showing his true colors when she isn't around.

Fourthly - Adam always did say he was going to take everything Nick loved away from him. Sharon is just another object that Adam wants to take from Nick. There is no real love there. Only the desire to win.

That is the real Adam Newman. Anyone who thinks redemption is possible is an idiot. The only person who could even BEGIN to offer this man some hope of redeeming himself is Ashley, the woman who still stands without her child because Adam killed it, tortured her mentally and then sued her afterwards like the pig he is. She brought him into her home, trusted him, and he abused her abominably.

Sharon offering Adam redemption? Sharon and Adam as a love story?

Dog poo covered with perfume still smells like shit. I wish the writers of Y&R would get a clue and see that.

The Lobotomy of Sharon Newman

What the hell has happened to Sharon Newman?

I remember a time when this character was my main reason for watching Y&R. I grew up enthralled with the love story of Sharon and Nick. Yes, from my early days I was a Shicker. When Phyllis (whom I more affectionately refer to as SyPhillis most days) spread her legs for the distraught Nick, I screamed at the writers for ever thinking anyone could replace Sharon in Nick's heart. Especially not some two-dollar hoochie mama who seemed hell bent on destroying every relationship in GC.

As it turns out, I was right. SyPhyllis endured many years living in the shadow of Nick's great love, Sharon. He simply couldn't let her go. She felt the same way, and with Cassie's prophecy, they seemed destined to someday have their happily ever after. The writing was on the wall.

CUE IN NEW Y&R TALENT-LESS WRITING TEAM!

For some reason, this new team of writers think they can abuse the loyalty fans have shown for Sharon for over a decade now, by using her to pimp the character of Adam Newman. ADumb, and his supposed redemption storyline, has turned a once strong woman, a once fiercely loyal and caring mother, into a complete fucking idiot. I seriously do not understand why the writers feel the need to destroy this well-established character for a lower-than-dirt one such as Adam. The old Sharon, the one that existed when good writers were in control of this show, would never let some baby-killing, kidnapping FREAK near her child. This storyline is just plain pathetic and unbelievable to me.

The man STOLE your baby and let you think it was DEAD! When he had the chance to confess to you because he loved you oh so much, he kept lying to your face. And now I'm supposed to believe that you have conflicted feelings for this monster?

BITCH PUH-LEASE!

I never thought I would see the day when I actually thought Nick was being the better parent. For years he pissed me off by not being with Sharon when he clearly loved her more than SyPhyllis. But he is absolutely right in telling Sharon she is an idiot for ever letting scum like Adam anywhere near their daughter after he tried so desperately to make sure they lost her forever. I know a lot of people are saying he's not doing this for Faith, that he wants to control Sharon, blah blah blah...

If that were the case, he would have ordered her to come with him after he found them in the barn. Not take their daughter from her arms, claim he is taking Faith home and that Sharon can do whatever she wants. He obviously went to Adam to plead to his supposed "love" for Sharon and let her go. Of course the fucking weasel knew she was there. Of course he told Nick everything he knows Sharon wants to hear. He's been spoon-fed the answers by the blonde bimbo for months about how Nick and Jack never thought she was a strong woman and didn't need a man.

Uhm, note to Sharon - if you were actually strong woman, you wouldn't feel the need to fight your supposed deep feelings for the man that stole your own flesh and blood.

FUCKING MORON!

Adam is doing what Adam does best - manipulating the situation to his advantage, I honestly do not believe he loves Sharon. This is all about beating Nick. beating Victor. Poor little, abandoned ADumb. I bet if Nick acted like he didn't give two shits about Sharon, Adam would drop her like a hot potato.

What pisses me off is that this broad is too dumb to see it. And that is NOT the Sharon Newman we have known for the past ten-plus years.

I think it's safe to say - Sharon Newman has had a lobotomy and the new writers of Y&R should be ashamed of themselves for thinking dedicated Y&R fans actually like this trash.
